Vegums

Vegums started with two friends: John and Abdul, both plant-based working pharmacists. They knew that pursuing a vegan or plant-based diet can result in vitamin and mineral deficiencies. It can be difficult to get sufficient essential vitamins such as B12, D, B6, selenium, and Iodine from non-animal diets. This leads to the potential for serious health problems such as anaemia, tiredness, depression, and poor metabolism.
They struggled to find plant-based multivitamins, particularly gummies, for their families. So, they decided to use their pharmacological expertise and research non-animal vitamin ingredients to develop the ideal multivitamin for a vegan and plant-based lifestyle.

The result was the successful launch of Vegums in November 2018 (called The Multivitamin for Vegans back then). It contains no animal-derived ingredients (as certified by the Vegan Society), uses natural colors and flavors, and a pinch of natural cane sugar for sweetness.

Vegums continually develops new delicious products, with the same ethos, as requested by customers. In 2020 the Fish-Free Omega-3 Vitamins and the Yummy Iron Gummies were launched. During the first nine months of 2021, Vegums´team worked day and night to bring you the vitamin you’ve all been asking for… the Sugar-Free A-Z Multivitamin. This little raspberry flavored bear has all the sweetness of real raspberries but boasts zero sugar and a blend of 10 vital vitamins and minerals.

Sustainability is extremely important to at Vegums, so Jiffy Green envelopes are used. They are padded kraft paper bags, filled with recycled macerated paper.  When you order for the first time at Vegums, you get a cardboard tube to store your Vegums gummy vitamins. These can be recycled or upcycled as plant pots, pen holders, coffee pots, money boxes etc. Your first Vegums order will also include a click-clack metal tin. Each tin can store a month’s supply of Vegums vitamins (Iron, Omega-3, or the Multivitamin) — perfect for keeping topped up on the go. The wrappers are plastic-free cellulose bags made from cornstarch. They are 100% biodegradable and can be thrown straight in your compost bin along with your potato peelings.
