RE/DONE

RE/DONE is so much more than a denim company, it’s a brand with a mission: to restore individuality to the luxury fashion space, to keep heritage brands relevant, and create sustainable, mindful fashion. It’s the first luxury label that was born online and has since grown as an e-commerce brand.

RED/DONE was founded in 2014 by Sean Barron and Jamie Mazur with the simple idea of taking the old and making it new again, an inherently sustainable goal that pivoted the fashion industry toward a more responsible future. After nine months of product development, creating one mid-rise modern skinny fit, and one perfectly slouchy, borrowed-from-the-boys relaxed fit, the first run of 300 pairs instantly sold out from their direct-to-consumer site. A waiting list with upwards of thousands of people sparked demand for more, and so it began.

About The Founders

Born and raised in Los Angeles, and surrounded by diverse people with unique fashion sensibilities, Sean understood clothing as a universal matter that everybody has a relationship with. Having a young daughter, Sean grew passionate about providing a sustainable future for her and integrating responsible practices into his work at RE/DONE. With a keen, tasteful eye and a natural propensity for brand building, Sean has accrued over 20 years' experience in the trade. Prior to RE/DONE, he launched successful brands KATAYONE ADELI and JOIE, all pioneers in contemporary fashion.

Also an LA native, Jamie developed his love for all things design in his early teens. Stylistically influenced by his musical heroes – Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, Tom Petty – leather, denim, and simple tees were standards always to be found on his idols and within his personal wardrobe. With a desire to find and study mid-century art, furniture, and clothing he grew so passionate about, Jamie went to the Rose Bowl Flea Market frequently. There, he developed his knowledge from expert vintage vendors and buyers, becoming his own historian of Americana design. Through mutual industry friends, he was introduced to Sean.

Reimagining iconic heritage brands is at the core of RE/DONE. Beginning with the original concept of upcycling vintage Levi’s into modern fits, employing preloved raw goods to create brand new styles while extending the life of stagnant stock. Since launch, the label has diverted over 145,000 garments from landfills and reconstructed them into coveted luxury collectables. The RE/DONE | Levi’s and upcycled collections celebrate each item’s past and continue its individual story. As one of the largest fashion players distributing upcycled products, RE/DONE has pushed the industry as a whole toward a more sustainable future.

In 2016, the label officially partnered with Hanes to recreate vintage-inspired tees from their archive. For this collaboration, RE/DONE | Hanes developed a brand-new recycled cotton, reverse engineered from a 1950s tee found in the Hanes archive. As of 2019, the product expanded to also include tanks and sweats. Other collaborations have included Bass, Cindy Crawford, and The Attico, where the collections celebrated iconic styles of the past with a sustainable twist.

Since inception, RE/DONE creates one-of-a-kind, limited-edition luxury designs with a commitment to mindful production, sustainability, and circular fashion. Today, RE/DONE continues to honor their exclusive heritage partnerships, while expanding their offering to also include reduced-water denim, upcycled ready-to-wear, and sneakers handmade in Italy by expert artisans. RE/DONE is available in over 50 countries, in over 500 of the top retailers worldwide including Boon The Shop, Matches, Le Bon Marche, Net-A-Porter, Selfridges, Luisa Via Roma, and on the RE/DONE digital flagship.  Check here to get 15% off your first order! :)
